You may not point to it and name it, but you can mention it, and talk about it. TAO is pronounced ‘TAO’ as in ‘tea’ and ‘ Tom’. However, to avoid embarrisment, you should be aware that the ancient sages of the East, and half of the world, call it ‘Dow’.
TAO
“ Tao named, is not Tao ”
TAO is not a physical or material thing, so attempts to define it,
explain it, or enclose it, will always be resisted.
“ TAO belongs neither to knowing or not knowing. If you really understand TAO beyond doubt, it is like the empty sky.”
TAO is an idea, albeit a spiritual one, used to express our wonder and involvement in the universe.
TAO could be expressed as a state, condition, or energy interplay, in a material, physical, and spiritual sense. It is the movement of the universe and
all our involvements, and could be ‘seen’ as a flow of energy.
TAO is the great flow of energy running through the universe. This has a huge impact on Humanity, and on your own involvements and relationships, awareness, and enjoyment of life, as well as your spiritual development.
TAO , and Taoism as a religion, is an understanding and a Way through life. Through an awareness of the flow of energy you can be more effective in your actions, and find inner peace.

Apart from all the theories about TAO and energy, and the endless metaphysical speculations,
“it’s just within each different momentary situation you find yourself in.”
Whatever TAO might be, the answer, information, or awareness you have, or get from the present situation, can change your reality.
The TAO I CHING provides an easy and straight-forward way to convert all of this energy into personal activity, through your own awareness, intentions, and involvement.

For most, this flow of energy will be seen as
Chance and Change.
This is where the Ancient Chinese come in, with their mysterious book and system
The I Ching
TAO has, even though this may seem a little theoretical, certain qualities that influence just about everything. These ‘qualities’ include reflection, timing, change, and chance, and go some way to explaining why things happen as they do. These form ‘rules’, which are used to construct the hexagrams which are included in, and form, The TAO I CHING and The I Ching.
When you see TAO as a flow of energy you then begin to notice and understand other qualities that encourage awareness, acceptance, and ultimately a great faith or optimism in life. The TAO I CHING presents a spiritual clarification and direction in our busy modern world. You can ‘go with the flow’, just ask questions, or have a spiritual influence and actually change the world.
TAO
You don’t have to think, or do anything, about it. TAO runs itself. All you have to do is notice it, and go along with it. However, with all those thoughts, ideas, and ambitions, in your head and heart, you may not be seeing the present clearly. There is a possibility that “you don’t know the half of it.” There is a rich abundance of information and sensation all the time, but you could miss most of it because you have other concerns or interests.
